Special Guest! Rebecca “Lambchop” Reilly

Lambchop and flowers

Rebecca Lambchop Reilly was born and raised in Buffalo, NY. There were no messengers in Buffalo so when Rebecca found herself working in Washington, DC she saw them on her bike commute into work for the first time. After getting fired from her bank job for her bad math, Rebecca dared to walk into the community as a complete rookie and certified g00ber.

Rebecca has been around the world to 11 Cycle Messenger World Championships (CMWC) starting at the third annual event in 1995 here in Toronto, Canada.  She’s also been to countless alleycats around the US and Canada as well as North American Cycle Courier Championships (NACCC) and group rides like the San Francisco Russian River Ride and the NYC Hudson River Ride. She has been Fixed Gear Queen 5 times at the Copenhagen CMWC and the Minneapolis NACCC beating all the men in the track stand.

She helped organize 3 CMWCs and helped to found the New York Bike Messenger Association (NYBMA).

The scene has been her muse for more than 30 years. It has been where she has found herself, found lifelong friends and even though served as a Marine for 8 years, it was through the messenger community she found purpose. Whether it be writing her classic book Nerves of Steel, her blog Imaginomix or on her podcast What’s My 20? Rebecca has spent much of her life creating platforms for a misunderstood and misrepresented community that she believes deserves to be heard in its own voice.
